is there a good food for spiritual health

is there a good food for spiritual health?
Just wondering if there is other kinds of food like garlic that can help with spiritual health and healing... like the spirit and chakra cleansing... other than meditation. Not to say I won't do meditation... I'm just wondering if there is also a nutritional element to consider.

I don't know but I'd be interested in finding out so I'll watch your question with interest. Saying that, I think you can't go wrong with Green Tea. It just seems so healthy and spiritual to me but I think that's just my personal opinion. It goes without saying that any spiritual food would be vegetarian but I'd guess that it would be more to do with how you feel about that food than the food itself as it seems to me that this would be a psychological thing.
2 :
maybe it's more important to avoid foods/drinks that overstimulate or dull the senses and moderation of intake,as never eat til you are full? a few yrs. back i had become a flexitarian( i ate vegetarian over 90% of the time, little dairy-yogurt and cheese-no meat or eggs but occasionally fish and also avoided all sugar and caffeine but i still drank a beer or two on weekends for some reason)and after about half a yr. i had this incredible mental clarity and develop so much natural energy that i started to eat very little because i had no desire to eat much. i am certain most days i didn't even eat 1200cals at 6' and 165lbs.(down from about 190) and i felt the best i ever felt in my life. it lasted for about 2yrs. until i had an extreme and long lasting stressful job related situation that i let take over my life and i quit taking care of myself correctly. the money i gained wasn't worth what i lost. i did a some vipassana meditation retreats yrs. later and it was the only time i regained that same level of mental clarity for a while

Is frozen food bad for health when meat is also kept frozen

Is frozen food bad for health when meat is also kept frozen ?
Is it because frozen foods doesn't mean frozen fresh foods but foods with antiseptic ? The frozen foods that can be prepared with microwave ? For example, frozen corndogs or nuggets, pizza.

I don't understand what you're saying.. >.>
2 :
If you're refering to frozen foods such as pizza, nuggets and frozen corndogs, then regardless of whether they are frozen or not, those foods certainly aren't going to be healthy. But if you're talking about vegetables or meats, they only lose a slight amount of their nutritional value, meaning it's still definately better to eat frozen veggies and meat that go and buy a big mac from mcdonalds!
3 :
Frozen food isn't bad. It is prepared foods that are bad. Normally they are made with garbage ingredients. Foods that are frozen keep longer

No. I raise chickens and sell their eggs (soon to sell meat as well). I cannot sell to the general public without a license.
2 :
No, completely illegal. And with the present health threats you would not be taken lightly. Your parents will end up in trouble too, assuming you use their kitchen.
3 :
unfortunatelyHealth and Hygene have gone completely mad these days . Even the poor old Ladies coffee mornings can get into trouble for selling cakes that have been made privately at home. it depends on the area you live in and how tightly they keep to the rules . The best thing to do is go to your Town hall and ask their advice because if you start to charge people and you haven't a licence you will almost certainly end up in trouble . Stupid laws but basically to keep people from getting food poisoning
4 :
it should be legal since smoothie and milkshake are known to people that won't caused health problem. since you are 15, why don't u try filling survey and complete offers? it's free to join and must be 13+ y.o join here: http://www.cashcrate.com/1218128

Went to the health food store looking for a good anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory and was barraged by bottles of?
so many "superfruit berries" and went home empty handed and confused-mangosteen? gogi? acai? nopal cactus? what? What is the best and how are they different? I am clueless. Please help!

Good sources of antioxidants come from berries and things with vitamin C. Coconut oil also contain antioxidants. Wheat grass also contain antioxidants. Antiflammatory: tea tree oil, coconut oil. Why exactly are you looking for anti-oxidants? It's best take in antioxidants fresh from its source.
2 :
It is overwhelming, lost in a sea of bottles, promises, claims, so I feel your pain. Let me help.. Gogi, Acai, Nopal, Agave, Amla Fruit, Magosteen are amazing fruit with plenty of antioxidants, rich in vitamins but overdone by the media. Hype made them very expensive, small 8oz bottle of acai is over $4 ! That small bottle will give you same benefits as a full glass of orange juice. Yes, it is proven if these superfoods are taken in huge concentrations the result is amazing. Sipping 8oz bottles each day wont make a difference. I did various studies on delivery of antioxidants, and ORAC numbers (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) has become the current industry standard for assessing antioxidant strength of whole food. Highest concentrations are found in Tea (called EGCG), chocolate, grape seed, oregano red wine and french pine bark. There are 3 answers that will blow you away; 1. Grape seed extract 200mg daily (make sure the only product in the pill is "grape seed", cheaper diluted pills also have grape skin, stems, which are a filler. Grape seed effect happens in progression, minimum 3 months. It is most popular antioxidant, benefits are staggering The other two both come from France; maritime pine bark extract (Pycnogenol) and Wine Tonic. Pine bark is more potent than grape seeds, but it is controlled by France, they sell them to different vendors due to a patent then distrubited world wide. This is the best antioxidant, and most expensive ($60 for 90 80mg pills), same effect as grape seed but potent! Be careful it thins your blood, so taking it with certain thinning blood medication is bad 3. Last is almost too good to be true, holy grail. A red wine tonic, it is a extraction of the ingridient Polyphenols, a chemical found in red wine. It is said red wine is good for many reasons, in moderation due to alcohol. A capful of this extraction is equilavent to staggering 130 bottles of red wine (of course minus alcohol). There is plenty of research on this mirace, in major papers magazines,shows.. It can actually reverse aging process. 130 bottles a day is still a fraction of what this thing can do. Hope this helps..
3 :
They are scam products. Just eat a healthy balanced diet for all the nutrition you need. If you need an anti inflammatory, see your pharmacist. Read this article: "MonaVie and Other "Superfruit" Juices" http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4086
4 :
Try making yourself a hot drink from a teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of hot water. Add a little black pepper to add the absorption of the active inflammatory substance. http://www.naturalremediescures.com/2008/06/benefits-of-curcumin-turmeric-enhanced-by-black-pepper/ Try eating berries instead of drinking bottled berry juice

Goldfish Health what kind of food i will give them?
What can i feed my goldfish for good health?
Fish - 4 Answers

1 :
Never ever have only 1 goldfish, it will get lonely and eat itself out of loneliness. Make sure there are NO decorations or little plant things in the tank, your fish will eat these whole and poo a LOT then die out of weight loss. Feed your fish one little flake every day, even skip a few days. They do not need much. You can also sprinkle some pepper on top of the water, this is very good for the fish and also makes them happy. However do not feed them salt, this makes their poo come out very hairy.
2 :
Ignore narwhal/ lisa whatever that persons name is. She is spamming a bunch of questions with idiotic answers. Anyway, a variety of food is better then just one. I used to feed hakari goldfish food but cant find it anymore so feed my goldfish something that looks like tiny fruit loops. They also get bugs and algae. Flakes are fine as are pellets and some fresh fruits.
3 :
Any kind of goldfish flakes or pellets are fine, plus defrosted frozen peas with the shells removed to help with their digestion once or twice a week. It's always better to give a variety of food, but it's not absolutely essential.
4 :
Goldfish flakes and garden peas

How many human beenigs have unsatisfied basic needs (Food, Health, etc)

How many human beenigs have unsatisfied basic needs (Food, Health, etc)?
Also, what porcentage of world's population had unsatisfied basic needs before, was it bigger, how bigger? Do you know where to find straight and relieful "world numers" like this? Most of my spelling errors are carelessness-related. Most of my grammatical errors are intensional. "Wrong category" when refering to philosophy is even more subjective than my unanswerable "Q" (I will assume that's "question", in any case it should be "Q." but maybe such mispunctuation is related to not beeing able to tell orthography from gramatics). My terrible writting is less evident when I write in my home language, instead of the others I handle. Fortunately, I constantly improve my writing skills, meanwhile I've chosen not to wait untill I master a language before I dare use it. What I am looking forward to read is prescisely the diverse views of those who care and are versed on this matter (and I think the tone of my question shows this). Filómata (as should be obvious to anyone who speaks english) is spanish for Philomath (lover of learning). I always correct people when they express themselves incorrectly, instead of saying that I don't mean any offense.

With no real offense meant as it relates to your spelling or grammer, and the fact that you're asking in the wrong category, I suggest that statistics regarding your Q are likely impossible to compose. I'll offer that it is likely in the billions. AND unsatisfied is a nebulous, subjective, and relative word to describe the situation you ask about. I live in the USA. I live at a level I consider UNSATISFACTORY, and often below "Poverty" level standards,,,but I count myself fortunate that NEEDS at a subsistence level are avilable to me, usually through "Social Services" Many occupants of various countries have NO support systems available,,,as I do,,, and swallowing my dissapointments and egos may not fill my belly, but many in the world don't even have that option. Steven Wolf
4 :
G'day Filomata, Thank you for your question. The best place to look for answers is in places like the World Bank, UNESCO and so forth. Poverty is defined as the lack of essential services such as food, clothing, shelter and healthcare. The World Bank defines extreme poverty as living on less than US$ (PPP) 1 per day, and moderate poverty as less than $2 a day. It has been estimated that in 2001, 1.1 billion people had consumption levels below $1 a day and 2.7 billion lived on less than $2 a day. The proportion of the developing world's population living in extreme economic poverty has fallen from 28 percent in 1990 to 21 percent in 2001. Much of the improvement has occurred in East and South Asia. In Sub-Saharan Africa GDP/capita shrank with 14 percent and extreme poverty increased from 41 percent in 1981 to 46 percent in 2001. Other regions have seen little or no change. In the early 1990s the transition economies of Europe and Central Asia experienced a sharp drop in income. Poverty rates rose to 6 percent at the end of the decade before beginning to recede. I have attached sources for your reference. Regards
5 :
Hello, Filomata, We can appreciate your interest in such statistics. If you seek 10 different media for information you will get 10 completely different statistics.which one would you believe. Moreover , the basic needs like food for an American may be Cereals, eggs, bread and jam and yougart. The basic need for a labourer in India is just some quantity of rice. he is more happy than the American. The health care in America, for example is so expensive unless you have insurance. In India every city has FREE hospitals where anyone can get free treatment. No insurance. Everywhere there are pockets of problems .Whatever you and I can do for these will be a step forward.
6 :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_percentage_of_population_living_in_poverty check that link out...it will give u some reliable infos
7 :
NEED implies cannot live without it. Human beings who do not get their needs met DIE. Looking at children alone, 10.5 million die each year because their needs are not met. This is very close to the number of people who will die from tobacco related causes. The issue is not just meeting needs, it is providing people with a safe and secure environment and enough education to prevent self destruction through Drug abuse (including tobacco) and AIDS and other health issues. The sites below should give you a start:
8 :
Check "world poverty levels" on google

Is it hazardous to your health to cook food in a zip-lock bag in boiling water

Is it hazardous to your health to cook food in a zip-lock bag in boiling water?

Yes. .The bag will melt. The "boil in bag" that you get with frozen food is specially designed to hold up to the tempretures.
2 :
yes
3 :
No, just make sure the air is squeezed out so it won't burst while cooking.
4 :
Not to my knowledge. I manage a motel at the Jersey Shore during the summer and have had "make your own omelet" breakfasts which involves putting everything in a zip lock bag and boiling it. Never any complaints of illness to date. As for long term hazards your guess is as good as mine. I got the idea from a camping magazine, so I doubt it was formally tested for long term risks.
5 :
It could be, They are now saying that plastic's such as cling free plastic wrap, plastics that are stored in the freezer's , any type of plastic has some dangerous chemical in it that is released into the very food its holding when heated , whether its cooked on stove or microwave , or conventional ovens...just another caution..!!!!! I always did wonder about that plastic and the moisture it built up and knowing I would not want to eat plastic ..
6 :
no, i make omlets in a bag for my family all the time and we eat them when we go camping. We didn't get sick and we are all alive!
7 :
I have never heard of anything like that so I would doubt that there is any hazard.

Do you work in food service or health care and have to cut corners to keep your boss off your back

Do you work in food service or health care and have to cut corners to keep your boss off your back?
The maids in hotels are expected to do more, in less time, for less money these days. Nurses, Nurse's Aids, Cooks, and various medical workers, are mostly forced to work very fast to the point that they violate state, city, and federal rules. Do you feel forced to break the rules to keep management off your back?

Other - General Health Care - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Absolutely!!! I work in a restaurant - I have worked in various different restaurants over the last five years from casual dining to fine dining, from waiting to managment. In every single situation I have been put in situations where I do not feel comfortable with what I am being asked/forced to do. I have been forced to underpay staff who are known not to check their payslips because we can get away with it. I have been forced to work for fourteen hours unbroken and to make others do the same. Food that is sub-standard is sent out because we know most people won't complain. Cleanliness and hygeine are only an issue when the health and safety officers are due to come by - believe me we always know when they will come. The health and safety of both staff and consumers constantly come last in the food sector. In my experience of being a patient in hospital I an say that medical services are little different.
2 :
I worked as a chambermaid in a hotel that whenever 1 maid left or was put off the other maids had to do extra to make up. This went on until it got so that no matter how had and fast you cleaned it was impossible to do a through job, then they would hire another 1 or 2 maids. But for a time they had 1 or two less wages to pay. Where I am now I have to do 1 day at my employers mothers house but still keep up here. Also at times when I have asked for time off ma'am will say "Oh Kim please make sure so and so is taken care of before you go won't you". This will almost always mean that my time off is shortened because doing "so and so" takes longer than the time she has allowed. For example, if there is some ironing I haven't finished because it is not urgent she will say "please finish the ironing before you go" even though nothing in the basket is required

Why?

It is about the worst thing that you could possibly eat. First off, there is the extremely high fat content. If you can't get rid of the extra weight, then you have a problem. Second, there is usually sugar added. Sugar is not very healthy.
2 :
too much chemical to keep the food fresh, the cholesterol is filled in every piece of food ( mainly most of the cholesterol the one that block your artery that lead to heart attack and eventually paralyze you) but majority of the cholesterol take a while to be broken down. If you take biology I think you'll know, I forgot about it so I don't want to confuse you. Stroke, Heart attack, there is a lot of bad factor. You can eat it once a while but dont' eat it everyday and sit on your behind hoping nothing will happen. Do enjoy it once a while, but be sure to limit yourself.

It's very bad. They are making the "food" as cheaply as possible so profit can be as high as possible

Why Michelle Obama gets cheese burger & fries but she requires her "health food" for other Americans

Why Michelle Obama gets cheese burger & fries but she requires her "health food" for other Americans?

How else could she keep looking like Chewbacca?
2 :
It is ok to eat those things in moderation.
3 :
Because Dian Fossey left her a McDonald's franchise in her will.
4 :
She's not making you eat health food. She is encouraging and educating others on the benefits. Let her eat her junk food, she knows the risks, why do you care?
5 :
The Democrat mantra is "Do as I say, not as I do."
6 :
What would you say if she was eating a banana instead?
7 :
Huh. The gestapo must have missed me - I was able to pick up fast food on my way home from work yesterday. I seem oddly immune to the programs that conservatives keep telling me the Obama administration is conducting - I've been oddly lucky in evading insurance death panels, mandatory Muslim prayer, and higher taxes, too. On an off note, I wonder if it's possible to conduct an entire political movement against a straw man opponent?
8 :
When did Michelle Obama tell you that you can't eat a cheeseburger?
9 :
If any politician was "requiring" health food for me, I'd be the first to slather them in BBQ sauce and ride 'em out on a rail. But the First Lady just goes on photo-op busywork trips teaching kids to eat carrots instead of Frosted Snickerdoodles. It's not that frightening. Now then, who wants a burger? I'm starving.
10 :
Typical progressive piece of trash!! Do as I say not as I do!
11 :
After reading this in the media I would have bet money that there would be an inane question like this. Please name a policy put forward by Michelle Obama requiring health food for Americans.
12 :
Lets face it folks, you can look at her and tell she is no vegan.
13 :
She doesn't "require" anything of anybody. I'm eating a Big Mac right now and she hasn't said jack.
14 :
Because Hubby loves big butts.
15 :
She was invited to Katies Diner, have you seen the menu? She was being polite...
16 :
Because humans eat. Do you actually believe that she requires you to eat health food? I feel sorry for you being so timid.
17 :
do you seriously have nothing better to do than criticise someones diet?
18 :
Shes a hypocrit
19 :
She has to nourish that humongous ass of hers somehow. And it is kind of a Marie Antoinette kind of thing. "let them eat tofu" as she chows down on roast beef and chittlins. After all, the liberal media propaganda machine has touted her as the most powerful woman in the world because she says that you and your kids are too fat and then they ooh and aahhh at her toned arms and grovel in the radience of her beauty. She is an angry wookie/cow who wants to steal your pie. There. I said it. Report me.
20 :
Because she's a Democrat. Democrats demand the ruling-class have plenary power to run their own lives - and yours.
21 :
Gibbering nonsense. Improving nutrition education doesn't "require health food" for anyone. It's educating people about how to eat a balanced and healthy diet, and how to moderate their "treats." This is utterly non-issue.
22 :
There is no way anyone can know whether our first lady eats healthy or not based upon what the news tells us. The best way is to see if she is overweight or appears like she often eats cheese burger and fries. I do not eat these things in front of my son because he wants them always and I want to be a role model. I have been known to eat these when my son is not around because I like fries and I like them a lot. Here lies the split between what I know to be healthy and what I know I want to eat. I need to train my brain to do the former again and again and again. For the most part, I eat healthy but some kind of backward reward is for me to be able to order what I want once a month. Life in most things is about balance. It is about progress and not perfection. Thank goodness the first lady is working on the things we need to do for ourselves to have a healthy lifestyle. Our kids are the first generation who are not expected to live as long as we may live. Lets make hamburgers healthier. I make healthy fries with a special oil sprayer and an oven that my kid loves

Quite a bit - Health is a broader degree, and more into wellness, while nutrition is more specific and licensed. You would be better off to find the nutrition and then look for dance

What I'm mostly going to be doing is pushing carts, cleaning spills on floors and moving items (which might include food sometimes) back where they're supposed to be at. So is a health card needed? I'm partial to Jif reduced fat peanut butter. However, I discovered that the oil in peanut butter isn't really bad for you, in moderation. I am accustomed to the taste and texture of the reduced fat variety now, though, and regular seems too oily to me. Skippy and Peter Pan are both good, but I really prefer the flavor of Jif. You could try reduced fat or reduced sugar varieties. They will contain less fat or calories than regular.

walmart, where i live, carries Naturally More PNB. see site below for info. i personally prefer Smart Balance PNB which i buy at walmart too. both are reasonable healthy compared to Skippy and Jif excellent article on PNB below by a bodybuilder who stayed lean eating it

I snack every two hours at work...every two-three days I carry in to work a large bag filled with pre--portioned snacks of all of the above, as well as things for lunch if I forget or don't get time to get out. Chunky Soup/Campbell's Soup, Ham Sandwich (no mayo, no cheese**) Don't forget to indulge once in a while! I sure as heck keep a bar of 780% dark chocolate in my drawer and I do indulge--but one square does me! Good luck, take it slow, you might slip and fall, but get up again and keep on going! PS--I say soy or lacotse free--I don't do dairy of any kind--it doesn't like my tummy.

If you dont like yogart try fat free cottage cheese. There's always salad, but i get sick of having that so i like to change things up. Theres many choices of fruits and vegetables as well. So try to mix things up a little bit, and it will be easier to eat healthy.

In lab rats, yes. As a human you would have to consume such massive amounts that all you could do was eat 24 hours a day. Here's a link: http://www.healthyeatingadvisor.com/cancer-causing-ingredients.html Draw your own conclusions.
2 :
yes... there is so much info on this subject, and i recently read that they do know long term affects. there are plenty of books and research out there, and once you start investigating, you may never eat anything boxed, genetically altered, non organic and such. ever again! some foods and ingrediants in the u.s. aren't even legal in other countries. sorry.. i could go on and on

is it a health issue if your food passes through your digestive system too fast

is it a health issue if your food passes through your digestive system too fast?
i heard stress can cause this but lately - it seems that the food i eat literally goes in one end and out the other in a matter of 20 minutes or less. is that abnormal?

The medical term for the process you're asking about is called Gastric Motility if you want to research it. Hormones play a big part in the process. If what you describe is abnormal for you, then you may want to get checked out to make sure it's not an indication of a bigger problem (like hyperthyroid).

That is very normal. I on the other hand am not

Why is fast food not the same as restaurant food in terms of health

Why is fast food not the same as restaurant food in terms of health?
For those that don't eat fast food because it's unhealthy, do you eat at restaurants? If so, how is that food different from fast food? I'm not saying it isn't, I just want to know. If there is any food from a restaurant that would be just as bad as fast food, what factor decides if its too unhealthy to eat? (with fast food being the standard as too unhealthy to eat) Also, what makes food cooked at home healthier than fast food? What factors decide whether the food cooked at home is relatively healthy or unhealthy?

fast food is cooked in oils that are very bad for you. Some restauraunts use these oils but not as much. A proper restaraunt offers vegetables and healthier options...there is nothing at a fast food place that is low in fat. Food you make at home can be as bad but usually when you make something like fries at home you bake thm in the oven whereas McDonalds deep fries them in grease and oil.
2 :
Hardee's food is a lot better than my wife's.
3 :
If you read the nutritional values on many sit down restaurants menu items, they're really not any better than you get in a fast food one. Even if you read labels on some of your products at home, you might not be eating any healthier there either. Don't look only at fat and calories... check out the sodium content too! Even when you cook at home, if you're using processed foods (precooked or coming in a can, jar, bottle, etc.) chances are there is a lot of sodium in it. If you are cooking at home, your best bet is to do your grocery shopping around the outside edges of your grocery store (produce, fresh meats and fresh breads are usually located around the outside edges). Use minimal amounts of oil in your cooking, eat whole grains and lots of veggies, pay attention to your portion sizes and cut down on your salt.
4 :
To make food "fast" involves extra processing, and every process removes more nutrients and leaves more "empty" calories. Home cooking involves fresher materials, and is generally close to it's source. To answer your question completely would require a "Masters" dissertation on foods. A place to begin some research might be Eatingwell.com.
5 :
It's fast! They have no time for attention to detail or cleanliness, inexperienced high-school and college kids and the under paid work there.
6 :
i don't get it either. grilled chicken salad at mcdonalds is the same as grilled chicken salad at chez pompous azz but alot cheaper.
7 :
To answer your question about what makes food in restaurants unhealthy, the answer is that they tend to use a lot more fat and salt than people use to cook at home. Men's Health just did a story on this, and they say that a lot of restaurant food is as bad as fast food or worse: "Sit-down chains don't want you to know that their food is actually considerably worse for you than the often-maligned fast-food fare. In fact, our menu analysis of 24 national chains revealed that the average entree at a sit-down restaurant contains 867 calories, compared with 522 calories in the average fast-food entree. And that's before appetizers, sides, or desserts—selections that can easily double your total calorie intake." See the link below. And check out the 2900 calorie cheese fries at Outback - ouch!
8 :
It's not a matter of the quality so much as the type that you eat. Fast food usually consists of beef, bread, and oil soaked fries. If you order a burger and fries at a fancy restaurant, you'll get the same thing, but many of them will include a salad (healthy) glass of water (healthy) or other things. Sit-down restaurants also offer a more diverse menu that can get you away from the beef and carbohydrates and into something a little better for you. Home cooked food can be just as bad as restaurant food, but few people at home do all of the deep frying and other fat-infusing methods used in some restaurants. If you choose wisely, you can eat well at home or out

If you really dont wanna mess with it find someone who has a membership to a big box store you can go with (costco, sams club,) you can get a giant tray of chicken wings and all kinds of other stuff, ready to go, and not too expensive!
6 :
fruit spread vegetable tray assorted nuts crackers & cheeses relish tray shrimp cocktail
7 :
Chips and salsa Olives Celery, carrots, cauliflower and other veggies, with a ranch dip. Tortilla Rollups: Flour tortillas, smear cream cheese, chopped onions, black olives and green chilis perhaps a thin slice of ham. Roll up and slice into 1/2 inch thick sections. Arrange on a plate. I warn you, these go fast. A variety of pickles. Some high end cheeses and crackers. Sliced Asian pear-apples with cashew butter to dip them in. (you need to dip the slices of the pear-apple or other apple in cold water with a few teaspoons of lemon juice, to keep them from browning. Fresh grapes, cherries, strawberries. Devilled eggs, always a favorite. Now, you've made me hungry.
8 :
You could cook all kinds of stuff you can take and make a cheese ball, that is real quick and easy to make. You can get some little smokies or use hot dogs just cut them up. but you can take the little smokies and bake them with bacon around them bake till bacon is done place on a tray and put tooth picks in them and serve. or take them and put them in a slow cooker and add bbq sauce till nice and hot can be left in and people can get as they like and use tooth picks to eat. there are lots of things to try and do. I hope this helps. http://www.msbierman.com
9 :
You can get food from places. Buy fried chicken from the grocery store, get a 6ft sub from subway (or comparable place near you), chips & dip, cut up fruit, cheese, bread (serve bread with a spinach dip, rye bread is best). Mini pigs in a blanket, sliders (you can buy them frozen at most grocery stores.) pizza rolls, mini tacos or taquitos.
10 :
Try a Costco platter. It is actually good, semi-healthy, easy and cheap to get. You can also get crab legs and shrimp from your local seafood restaurant where they can steam and season it for you. If there is a Giant in your area they will do it too. It will be fun to be slightly messy but fun because it it cause for celebration. You get great nutrition from fish to it's a plus. It is a blessing for you and your bro so have this moment and have fun!
11 :
There are a lot of good ideas here already, but here's one more: wraps. Get some big whole wheat tortillas, thin-sliced cheese, lettuce, salad dressing, and tomatoes (and if you want, some pastrami or ham or turkey). Layer the goods (not too thick) on a tortilla, sprinkle on a little salad dressing, roll it up, and cut it into a couple of pieces; secure them with a toothpick.
12 :
Get a big pork shoulder and make carnitas. Many recipes on line, and simple to make. Then you can buy little corn tortillas and wrap the pork up and eat it. Delicious

Try Sukiyaki as it has variety of vegetables and also have Tofu as it is also good for you..

how popular are organically grown foods and traditional "health food" stores in Egypt?

Egypt - 8 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
I would have to say extremely unpopular. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you found a boutique health food store somewhere in Cairo. Or if you're asking for business opportunity purposes then I would have to say that you would be investing a lot of money for a venture that has no future prospects in a country where the bulk of the population buy their groceries from street markets simply because everything else is un-affordable. I guess the rest of the population buy their groceries from "supermarkets" which are more like 7/11's than the Coles and Safeway supermarket's we have in Western countries.
2 :
its not popular, maybe among high class people it is as a matter of showing off or something, but believe me most Egyptians don't give a damn whether this tomatoes,potatoes,chicken...etc are organic or not, they just thank God that they are able to buy them.. Sad but true..
3 :
It is quite popular, at least in every large supermarket you will find an Organic Food section. Worth mentioning that one of the largest companies in planting and distributing organic food world wide is an Egyptian- German one and in Egypt all its products , especially herbal are available in all Supermarkets and Pharmacies (for those used in treatment) . So it is available but only for those who can afford them.
4 :
Not popular though you can find them wherever you get into metro supermarkets (available in cairo alex, sharm el sheikh, hurghada) but not in upper egypt . u can get them in carrefour superstores (cairo, alex) and in spinneys superstores(one branch in cairo) but they are available and i think they are affordable too(Triple the price of non organic foods approx) so if u give some care about paying more for some healthy food then i think u wont find their prices to be high especially when u know that food prices in egypt are quite moderate and cheap when it comes to some goods like vegetables and fruites but still u can find organic tea, peppermint, green tea, hibiscus packs etc for hot drinks in most stores but when it comes to popularity?no coz egyptians are poor and most of them cant afford paying for non organic food and egyptians dont care that much about their meal ingredients and u can find some of the worst nutritional habits practiced by egyptians like when some fat guy goes to the table and his mother tells him to eat more and say "may god keep u for ur youth-hood" which is litteraly the same as egyptians say "allah ykhalek le shababak" and when it comes to their mind that that guy must eat to be well and they dont give a damn about problems of obesity and overweight and these beliefs are not practiced by poor egyptians mostly it's more practiced in classy and rich families it's just a tradition, though on the other hand some egyptians care about their health and about their food components.it's just a matter of awarness. Regards
5 :
Organic food have a bigger carbon print! Also, alot of egyptians can hardly afford everyday bread, let alone organic food!
6 :
not much.
7 :
It is populated enough. There is health food in every town in Egypt. But the problem is not if they are a lot the problem is if they buy it and eat it.
8 :
They are quite popular, but very expensive

Should the government start fining itself for giving out welfare, food stamps and health care to illegals

Should the government start fining itself for giving out welfare, food stamps and health care to illegals?
Most of the illegals here don't even work and just live off the handouts. Want to get rid of illegals get them off the State's pumping machine.
