Wanda wants to open a health food store. She will pay rent 1500 per month, utilities 500, insurance 100 and payroll 1250. She estimates that her cost of goods will be 65% of sales. Wanda would like to make $2,000 a month for herself What is your contribution margin? How much does she need to make in monthly sales to break even? What is your total monthly revenue if you want to profit $2,000? Construct a break even chart for Wanda’s health food store.

First , the goods as 65% of sales is a bogus assumption ( could easily be that goods exceed sales in the early days and when successful , are less than 25 % soooooo Bogus Assumption / No valid economic basis for this number ) At some point during operation however , 65% may be legit when doing a current analysis . . . So , at the point in business when product is running 65 % of sales . . . How much to break even ? If product is 65% , then the other costs are 35% Add up the other costs . . . ( $3350 ) Break even means 35 % of sales = $3350 Product costs + operating costs = break even .35 ( sales ) = 3350 sales = 3350 / .35 Sales would have to be about $9571 to break even . Revenue necessary for profit ? Add the $2K to the break even amount . >

Sounds like a homework question to me.

Dried fruit from the health food store vs Glacee Fruits in specialty stores

Dried fruit from the health food store vs Glacee Fruits in specialty stores?
Hi! Sometimes it is preferable to use fancy fruit - for things like confections or for gift giving - rather than fruit from health food stores which carry fruits dried by "organic" means, simply because, in my experience, glacee fruits are far prettier. Do you think there is any great risk in buying fruits that are not sun-dried, say. In other words, how bad are the others? Maybe it is a question of how frequently you purchase them.

It all depends on how much sugar intake we really need, health food store will give you good natural ingredients where the Glaceed/Candied fruit are prettier it all depends on what you are conveying, looks or healthy eating, lol just thought of something, healthy fruit decoration on a box of fudge?lol. It's all preference, Enjoy

What's an easy health food that I can cook for 20 people

What's an easy health food that I can cook for 20 people?
I need to cook a healthy food that can be served to a class of 20 people. It is an assignment and is worth 100 points. This would be an easy assignment if it weren't for the healthy part. If anyone knows a simple recipe for a healthy dessert or healthy appetizers or anyt food that is easily served that would help a lot! Thanks!

baked chicken breast seasoned with lemon, pepper and seasalt u can accompany it with veggies or baked or steamed potatoe but no butter or sourcream only seasalt.
3 :
For entree, try anything steamed/grilled - leanest meats are chicken and fish. a nice fruit or veggie salsa is a great topping, full of fresh produce. A salad is healthy for a appetizer, put a spin on it - just have fun. Nuts, especially almonds, are incredibly healthy. For desserts, anything with egg whites, such as marange cookies, or low-fat yogurts with fruit. Dark chocolate is good for you as well. If your interested, I could come up with a recipe in a snap.

Ratatouille / Capanada This is a very forgiving recipe. Proportions can be varied. You can use all green peppers, add zucchini, add the ends of fresh tomatoes lying around, etc. It is easily doubled, better made ahead, and keeps up to a week. Kids love it and never realize they are eating eggplant. It makes a lovely pasta sauce and a good omelet (especially with a little sour cream). You can add a few nuts, cover it with cheese, and put it under the broiler to make a nice little casserole for lunch. Enjoy. 2 TBSP Olive Oil 1 Large Onion, diced 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced 1 Green Bell Pepper, diced 6 Cloves Garlic (as directed) 1 Eggplant (1# or so), cubed w/ skin 1 Large Can S&W Diced Tomato 1 Tsp Thyme 1 tsp Rosemary 2 Tsp Oregano 2 Bay Leaves Salt and Pepper 2-3 TBSP Capers 1 Cup Olives , sliced or bite size (Olive Oil) French or Italian Bread, sliced Dice onion, heat olive oil in large, heavy sauté or casserole pan, and begin to sauté over medium high heat. Stir as needed to avoid color. Chop or slice garlic and add to onions. Continue to stir as needed. Diced bell peppers and add to onion mixture. Stir as needed. Dice Eggplant and add to mixture. Stir as needed. When eggplant has begun to soften, add canned tomatoes, thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, two more garlic cloves minced or pressed, salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer 25-30 minutes. Serve warm as ratatouille. To make capanada: Chill, add capers, olives, two more minced or pressed garlic cloves, and (optionally) good flavorful Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Serve with sliced bread rounds.

How much will it cost to provide basic education, health care, food, and sanitation for all of the world?
How much will it cost to provide basic education, health care, food, safe water and sanitation for all of the world's people for a year? I desperately need answers for a school project so please reply- and I have to have a source so if you could link that as well. If you can do that, I'll choose your answer as the best answer.

http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats a little over half way down you will find a break-down of what you are after but basically 40 billion is the figure required. Interestingly enough 780 billion is how much the world spent on weapons in 1998. Some points you may want to bring up in your assignment: -At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. -24,000 children die each day due to poverty -Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. -Less than one per cent of what the world spends annually on weapons could have put every child on the planet into school by the year 2000 -Every year there are 350–500 million cases of malaria, with 1 million fatalities

For developing countries, it is $US 2 a day.
