you can get some kentucky fried chicken

There are two Trader Joe's in the Cincinnati area. There is also a Whole Foods in Cincinnati and one in Mason. Also, do a search for "health food stores" "natural food stores", etc. Also, Kroger has a very good naturals section. (I used to live in Ohio County, many moons ago. I used to be very familiar with the Florence/Erlanger area, but it's been nine years.)
6 :
no theres no food at all, kentucky isnt even a state what are you talking about
7 :
Healthy Alternatives on 18, by BCHS. They don't sell a lot of produce, but they've got some good stuff regardless. There's a new place on Mall Road called The Vitamin Shoppe. Haven't been in there, but it might be worth a try. Kroger's isn't actually a bad place to look. The Florence kroger doesn't have the best organic produce section, but the Union or Burlington one should have almost everything you need. If you're willing to drive 20 miles for groceries, there's a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods Market in Cinci, but be sure to bring along a cooler if you go

Can we still eat and live "green" without going to a health food store

Can we still eat and live "green" without going to a health food store?
Can you buy health items at regular retail stores? Can you give me any tips? thanks

Yes you can, but health food stores, and especially "organic" food stores have a better, wider selection. Many foods we buy at regular stores have chemicals on them or in them that are used to help with growing these foods or processing them. I'm not sure what you mean be "green" though. If you are referring to vegan lifestyle check this out: http://www.qvvo.com/link/f9b4a299/21843 If you just want a healthy diet watch food leabels and do some research. As a sample, read the info here: http://www.baberepublic.com/link/fe0f2281/21843

You could try any alternative health clinic, or supply shop but you would have to call around to see if they carry it or would special order it for you. Why not just order it on line? Here are a few sources: http://www.fulvarex.com/products/default.php http://www.fulvic.org/html/order_products.html

How does spicy food affect health in humans

How does spicy food affect health in humans?
I have read various answers but I would like more specific answers. The reason I said "answers" because I would like to know how much spicy food is healthy, and how is it healthy and how much spicy food is unhealthy and how is it unhealthy. I got curious because I've lately been eating a lot of this salsa that contains habanero peppers.

no

Gives you heartburn like KRAAAAZy.
3 :
if you eat too much the acid in it can give you stomach ulcers but generally its all good in doses like everything else some people say spicey food works as an aphrodisiac ;)
4 :
Certain spicy foods have benefits-- cayenne pepper is good for respiratory health and, believe it or not, can be takn in mall quantities to enhance digestive health garlic has antibacterial and blood-cleanising qualities Ginger is known for quelling nausea as well as an anti-spasmdic, tht is, it eases cramps, both menstrual and digestive. Hot peppers should not hurt you unless you have a sensitive stomach. If they hurt your stomach, stop eating them, You should just google some health food sites for this, if you really want to know....
5 :
The negative side of spicy food (hot peppers) is that it can irritate your stomach or esophagus (heartburn). The positive side is that it increases blood circulation (great in winter). Other than that I wouldn't worry. In tropical climates the people eat lots of spicy food because when it's 100F outside it's not as enjoyable to sit down and sink your teeth into a juicy steak. But if you spice it up, it's better.
6 :
Being from texas.. I have encountered MANY spicy foods. Spicy foods are good for you when you have a slow metabolism. Like me, I swear I have the slowest metabolism. It helps to speed up your metabolism so that you can burn that fat right off! Samantha

Do you think that any hoodia I buy from a health food store would be the real thing

Do you think that any hoodia I buy from a health food store would be the real thing?
It says all natural 100% south african hoodia and is manufactured by a reliable company, but I read that you should still be careful of imitation or fake hoodia and article said the manufacturing company may not even know they are not getting the real thing. How do I know its for real?

1 :
I dont think you ever will know 100%.
2 :
The people that are posting on this board that you shouldn't buy imitation or fake hoodia are actually selling hoodia themselves. Besides, hoodia has not been proven to help with weight loss. Your best bet is still a well-balanced, low-calorie diet and a consistant exercise routine. If you want to add something that will curb your appetite, add spices to your foods and eat a lot of fiber - it will keep you feeling fuller longer, thereby suppressing your appetite naturally.
3 :
Hard to tell unless it's analyzed in a scientific laboratory. But if, as you say, it's manufactured by a truly "reliable" or reputable company, then there's a good chance that it's not fake because they stand to lose a lot if it's revealed that it's not what they say it is.
4 :
Your concern about "fake" hoodia diet pills is a valid one. Truth Publishing, a consumer advocacy group, did a study last year and they discovered that over 60% of the hoodia weight loss pills on the market are fake. What they mean by fake is they contain very little hoodia gordonii - if any at all. They found that of the 17 brands they tested, only 6 passed the test. Since hoodia supplements aren't regulated, companies can pretty much say whatever they want and get away with it. So just because it says "100% hoodia gordonii" doesn't mean much. There are things you can look for, however, to make sure you are getting authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills. I'm sure you've read all over the Internet about CITES certificates. That is just one small thing to look for. Since you purchased your hoodia from a health store, you can check out the "reliable company's" website and see if they have their CITES certificates posted. If they do, be sure they are clear and easy to read. The best thing to look for is independent lab testing. The truly reputable hoodia sellers will randomly and anonymously have their products tested by an independent lab to ensure they are selling authentic hoodia gordonii. As an example, one company puts a code on every bottle so that you can enter the code and see the actual lab test results for the very bottle you own! They are the only company that does this. There are several other things you can look for as well. I've provided a link below that highlights the 10 things to look for when you buy hoodia. Again, since you purchased your hoodia locally, try to find the website of the company that makes the brand you purchased to get some of the information you'll need to look for that is outlined in the guide. I want to clear up some confusion from the information Patti gave you. She is half right about her comment that hoodia hasn't been proven to work effectively for weight loss. Hoodia isn't a weight loss pill directly, although it's marketed that way. All hoodia does is suppress appetite. It will not burn fat or magically melt the weight away so you will not lose weight just by taking hoodia diet pills. You still need to maintain a healthy diet and exercise for weight loss. As for the effectiveness of hoodia being an appetite suppressant, there aren't many studies that have been done. However, the few that have been done have been very promising. And dieters who take enough of authentic hoodia gordonii say it's been a terrific appetite suppressant for them. A New Jersey doctor has been conducting a clinical trial of hoodia diet pills with over 400 patients and has had tremendous success with it. I've provided a link where you can read more about it if you're interested. Best of luck to you. Travis

does anyone know any baking recipes using the super green food powder (bought at health food stores

does anyone know any baking recipes using the super green food powder (bought at health food stores)?
I bought this but don't like using it as a drink with water or as a smoothie. I'd like some advice this is an organic powder made from real fruit and vegetables, it is supposed to be mixed with water but i thought it would be fun to do something interesting with it. Mine is bought from trader joes but i actually saw it at whole foods and bristol farms.

we need more info... what does it taste like...what is its purpose
2 :
If the stuff you are talking about is what I think it is, you'd probably be better off using tiny amounts in recipes which contain VERY STRONG spices. I'm thinking hot chili or spicy curries. If you want it in desserts, I'd recommend something containing ginger or peanut butter. Anything to mask that disgusting flavor. Best wishes. You're gonna need 'em.
3 :
I would bake bread with it, replace the amount of flour for the amount of powder. Could be interesting
