my thyroid keeps swelling, but i dont want drugs for it. will anything at the health food store help

my thyroid keeps swelling, but i dont want drugs for it. will anything at the health food store help?
its done it 3 times since I had the flu a few months ago. It makes me feel gross. And I want to try a natural dietary supplement for it, instead of steroids or prescription drugs. will the ones that say "thyroid support" or whatever keep it from swelling up yet again?

I understand your concern about medication, but there is a natural thyroid medication called Armour. It's been around the longest of all the thyroid meds and it works great.
2 :
if you have thyroiditis that follows the respiratory infection, most likely no treatment to thyroid will be required

Is re-freezing food a health risk

Is re-freezing food a health risk?
I have been told by a friend that if you defrost food, just to room temperature, not using any heating methods such as microwaves, that if you re-freeze the food that you are seriously increasing your chances of food poisoning. Is re-freezing food a health risk?

yes it's a risk...
2 :
nah but why would you want to even try to salvage it.
3 :
Yes. It also loses flavor and nutrition.
4 :
I'm no expert but the way I was taught was. Beef- O.K. to refreeze. Pork -not O.K.
5 :
yes very much so, it should be cooked or defrosted in a refrigerator, then the left over portion can be refrozen
6 :
Yes, the most dangerous range is 40F to 140F. So if the food goes to room temperature, bacteria develop. Refreezing, puts those bacteria into dormant mode. They then produce toxins, when thawed out again. The safe thing would be to cook the food then re-freeze

It's not bad. It is better than alot of other dog foods out there. It really depends on what you want for your pet. Look up info on protein and dog foods. I personally feed EVO. It is a grain free diet, and both of my dogs just love it and feel great. It is high in protien so you have to be very carefull. Others: Innova would be my second choice. I am includeing a great site for you to get some info from. Good luck. http://www.consumersearch.com/dog-food Click on full report. Wealth of info on this site.

Do you consider Pork as a harmful food to health

Because I consider it harmful for health. Yuck.! P.S I never taste it and never will.

"Pork" is harmful to taxpayers.
2 :
well muslims and jews dont eat it as ordained by God.. it also said in the bible not to eat it and I couldnt find where Jesus abolished that law.. only that he came to uphold the laws. so Christians shouldnt eat it also.. I tried to research why God wouldnt allow pork meat.. I found that it is similar to human meat in composition.. (dont know how that would effect us) I know cows got mad cow disease by consuming their own meat.. so maybe we get crazy by eating pork.. Also pigs are known to carry numerous parasites that even in high heat cooking doesnt kill them out. In the old days there werent meat thermometers to test the meat.. And also these days, how are you sure your pork hotdog or pizza made by a vendor outside isnt cooked past the point of killing out all parasites.. ewww! yuck! stomach worms..
3 :
no...how's it different from any other meat? anything is okay in moderation
4 :
Pork provide you protein, mineral and vitamin. It add variety to our life. A piece of pork tenderloin is healthier than a piece for chicken breast. My sister have more problem with pork than I do. We are pretty particular about the way it is cook so that it does not have that porky smell like lamb have that lamb smell. Now a days, pork have a better enviroment and good feed. You should not worry much about it. Just remember every kind of food provide special nutritious factor you need to maintain our livelihood. If you rule out pork make sure you substitute your potential lost of protein, mineral and vitamin you need daily. Moderate eating is the key to pink of health.
5 :
muslims n jews dont eat cuz the religion says but i dont think so.we can eat it
6 :
Awww, come on! Pork is good; healthier than beef. Pork cutlets, pork steak, pork chops, pork barbecue, ham, bacon, spareribs. What's not to like???
7 :
no more harmful than any other meat. If you ate too much belly pork or pork scratchings you might end up really fat and have heart problems, but same goes for lamb chops and rib eye steaks! Taste is just a matter of preference. You might not like it, but if you havent tried it, how do you know?
8 :
Pork is Harmful to health, scientifically Pigs fat is the only type of fat known to stay in the body which will causes hart diseases / increase in cholesterol / and keeps u warm if u live anywhere cold ( that why people in Europe, Alaska, Russia and the Rockey Mountains ), people who live in hotter areas eat Hog and any why it has the same effect Something else Would u enjoy eating an animal that loves and enjoys bathing or playing in its own manure. Extremely YUCK.
9 :
all food that should be cooked its harmful but only if you don't cook it right chicken is the most harmful as it contains salmonella but again once it is cook properly the salmonella is destroyed pork as a very tasty meat , and makes a very nice meal
10 :
Appreciate all these answers, but at the end of the day, go for what pleases your body and mind. Freedom to choose what to eat and what not to eat should be enshrined in our constitution. To learn more about what it means to exercise these freedoms, go to http://www.consumerfreedom.com/
11 :
well, interesting question......but why do you consider it harmful? Pls explain

Your at an air port and your plane delayed there are 5 fast food places what do you chose for a health lunch

Your at an air port and your plane delayed there are 5 fast food places what do you chose for a health lunch?
Mc Donalds Big Roaster K.F.C Hunger Jack Pizza Hut As far as health foods goes in fast food

McDonald's, for the salads.
2 :
Personally I would go for Pizza Hut. I believe you can order salads there, and if so, I'd pick their garlic breadsticks n marinara with a lovely salad n italian dressing. Otherwise, I'd pick KFC.
3 :
McDonalds... I'd buy some salads and pig out on the salads, so I'm full of healthy foods. Be careful of the McCheeze Burger though...
4 :
McDonalds -salad or Piza Hut Salad Bar
5 :
Pizza Hut specially the salad
6 :
salad at mc donalds
7 :
I would say Mc Donald's, even the burgers have less calory than the other restaurants you mentioned though.
8 :
i dont worry about the health i ask the ppl with me where we are going
9 :
I have not heard of two of these but from the name I would select Big Roaster as it sounds like it's oven cooked vs cooked in a fryer
10 :
kfc it goes threw you so fast the fat is never digested
11 :
Neither I would pull out the lunch I packed. String Cheese Whole grain crackers. Mixed nuts Olives Sliced Salami Water I hate airport food and this question demonstrates the reason why!
12 :
Pizza Hut . Have a slice of thin crust of veggie pizza easy on the cheese (to save calories) and a salad. McDonalds salads are high in calories if you have the fried chicken add or put on the dressing.
13 :
Depends on your wallet, prices compare higher than at the regular outlets on the street corners. Depends on the snotty attitude the employees are having. LIke they want you their for the order or not. If not, go to 2nd choice! Go with something that will not fart you up on the airplane and less caffeine so less trips to the tiny toilet they got! So my choice would by KFC cause I have not been their in a while and would choose Root Beer to drink or Sprite/7 UP. 7UP just improved the ingrediants, more all natural no preservatives.

14 :
McDonalds has the best salads and lowfat/ fat free dressing. I would definatetly go there

Have you noticed that people overly interested in eating health food look sick?
Like, maybe if they just broke down and had a burger once a month or let themselves eat Shreddies instead of $10 Organic Nature Health Farms Cleansing "O"s, maybe they'd be a bit more healthy?

I love pretty much every fruit and veggie under the sun. Edamame, avacado w/ salt and pepper, fresh strawberry's, mango, pineapple, broccoli and ranch, frozen grapes, tomato w/ salt and pepper, artichokes, and fresh coconut are all great snacks.
2 :
Tofu. It's really refreshing, versatile and you can eat it in a jillion different ways. Nice protein source that's an alternative to meat. Try it microwaved with maple syrup on it
3 :
Sweet potatoes and whole wheat pasta go really well with asparagus. You can also try putting pepper and parmesan cheese on the asparagus. Turkey burgers are good too.
4 :
Make yourself some guacamole! I usually just cut myself an apple and have it with almonds.
