You may want to seek a culinary institute for this. My guess is you have to learn a lot about food and proper preparation techniques. A culinary institute would be a logical place to look. Good luck!
2 :
You could take a course in Dietary Management (2 yr) from your local community college, which will teach you what institutional and hospital food standards need to be. But if you are thinking of becoming employed w/the Fed Govt.. then they require a degree (B.S. and up) in Agriculture. Good Luck !
3 :
all health department inspectors has to have a bachelors degree preferably in the health sciences. It would help if you have an R.N. license....registered nurse

There's no such thing as "women's health food" - food is food. For men, for women, for everyone and everything. Don't let yourself get conned by the diet industry.

Are you sick and tired of the Health Food (anti-meat/soda) Food Nazis

Are you sick and tired of the Health Food (anti-meat/soda) Food Nazis?
First the health Nazis attacked tobacco, after getting traction on that issue they began attacking fast food joints, then they turned their sights onto soda... the health food zealots won't be satisfied until red meat is outlawed! I don't know about you but I'm very angry and Hades will freeze over before I sit down to a supper of raw carrots and celery washed down with a disgusting glass of grapefruit juice. Fast food is just that... just something fast and convenient... soda is just a snack drink. I wouldn't go to a McDonalds or a BurgerKing for a salad or a piece of fruit and if that's all they served or even a majority of their menu I would go else where. Only a fool would attempt to eat fast food three times a day/seven days a week. But it is convenient when your either in a hurry or on the run. Are you as angry as I am? Are you sick and tired of the health food Nazis attempting to dictate what you can eat and drink? How much would you care to wager the HMO's are the ones ultimately behind the health food propaganda? ----------------------- Control tobacco, food ads to beat cancer - panel By Maggie Fox, Health and Science Editor Thu Aug 16, 12:14 AM ET http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070816/hl_nm/cancer_usa_dc;_ylt=Ap3_o.sabt8ApNmBJxcrP469j7AB A new presidential report on cancer takes on not only tobacco companies but the food industry while calling on the federal government to "cease being a purveyor of unhealthy foods" and switch to policies that encourage Americans to eat vegetables and exercise. The report, issued on Thursday, also urged changes in public and private insurance policies to encourage doctors to spend more time counseling patients on how to stay healthy by eating right, exercising and avoiding tobacco. "Ineffective policies, in conjunction with limited regulation of sales and marketing in the food and beverage industry, have spawned a culture that struggles to make healthy choices -- a culture in dire need of change," said the report, available on the Internet at http://pcp.cancer.gov. "Moreover, the panel was troubled to find that the efforts of those committed to an America less burdened by cancer often are compromised by federal, state, and local policies that have decreased the availability and affordability of healthy foods, limited physical education in schools, and created a built environment that discourages physical activity," it said. Several reports have shown that a third of all cancers are caused by tobacco use, and another one-third by obesity and inactivity. "This country must not ignore its moral obligation to protect the health of all Americans. We can and must empower individuals to make healthy choices through appropriate policy and legislation, and the panel urges you to use the power of your office toward this life-saving goal," the President's Cancer Panel, chaired by Howard University's Dr. LaSalle Leffall, wrote in a letter to Bush.

I used to hate them with a passion...till I had my first heart attack...now the money I used to spend at McDonalds, I spend on heart and cholesterol medications...to the tune of $300 a month.
2 :
they can say whatever they want, and is good to have the right information's, but on the end the choice is yours, not theirs, I'm a healthy conscience person, and I do eat red meat and I love pizza but not every day, I do not like fast food I was raise with homemade cook food , so I cook every day for my family, fast food make me sick whenever i eat, but this is the country of the freedom as they say, so I read the info and make my own choice without regard in for fanatic people or craziness about food , we all have freewill, so use wisely

the goverment is tell us alittle to much of what we can or can not do every day. people just let it go but they have drawen the line on the man wire tapping??? befor long we won't be able to afford meat. , or milk

where is the connection between Healty food and Nazis? the word Fast food was foundet in the 1950ies . The Nazis disappeard the Time bevor. And know they dictatet what you must eat? When you mean us, them i feeling a littel bit discriminate, because the part of Germans who vote for the NPD is under 5% that isn´t nearly nothing. And many Germans are against Nazis. But I´m glad that we can present you Healty produkts besides fast-Foot. What do you choose is your problem and not that of a old and horrible History I eat also Fast food but it isn´t my main-meal
5 :
i dont like them, but you know, it's okay to eat every type of food- even absolute junk as long as you eat it in moderation.
6 :
i am tired of a gov't that tells people how to eat, live, etc because i believe if people can't figure out on their own what makes them fat & unhealthy it's natural selection at its' best...fast food companies make billions of dollars by overpricing crap food filled w/ fat, salt & sugar. anyone who buys this & calls it food it only fooling himself...+ they are giving their hardearned $$ away for nothing...don't buy this junk & complain national health insurance prices are up. don't buy this junk & complain that you need to go on a diet. don't buy this junk & complain that kids overall weight is up. a national panel, funded by who/what, claims lack of access to healthy food & exercise....what a bunch of bull.....if you want your kids or yourself to exercise, get off your butts.....if you want decent food --choose it without the gov't telling you how....i'm not pro funding anyone who can't figure out how to cook a decent hamburger for himself!!!! & then walk it off....get your kids into sports & off the gaming systems!

What is the natural form of lithium that can be bought at a health food store

What is the natural form of lithium that can be bought at a health food store?

Mental Health - 2 Answers

1 :
US Brand Names: Serenity, Life Link, NCI Advanced Research, Atrium Nutrition Generic name: Lithium orotate Pros: Allegedly it has no side effects. But that turns out to be a lie (see below). Cons: No real documentation that it actually works. Has side effects after all. Is potentially harder on your kidneys and is more expensive than lithium carbonate.
2 :
Great answer above, but I would also like to point out that taking lithium as prescribed by your doctor includes getting blood tests often. It is easy to wreck your organs and/or reach toxic blood levels while taking this drug. Therefore, I would NOT RECOMMEND you self-medicate

Are there any health benefits to eating spicy food

Are there any health benefits to eating spicy food?
I know that spicy plants evolved their unique trait so that mammals (the only creatures affected by Capsaicin) wont eat them. Yet humans do in spite of that. I'm just curious about any health benefits to eating spicy food. Are there any risks, other than the obvious burn, what kind of risks are there?

Is organic food really good for your health

Is organic food really good for your health?
I'm not a strict vegetarian or health conscious person. But thesedays, if there were organic products and regular products, I'd choose to buy organic products believing its gonna do something good for my health. Are there any real difference in organic food and others? Like let's say I have this organic pasta. How good is it for me than eating regular pasta?

Very good, you should eat Organic food.
2 :
I sometimes notice that the organic vegetables and fruits look better and taste better that the commercially produced products. I don't think that they are any better for for. I doubt that eating just organic products will make any noticeable change in your life with the exception of making you a little more poorer.
3 :
Organic Food is rarely Pesticide Free. It is grown in Cow Manure that is high in bacteria. "It is as nutritious as an other product." - Catherine Dimateeo of the Organic Trade association. Is it more nutritious? "It is as nutritious as an other product." - Catherine Dimateeo of the Organic Trade association. More expensive-not more nutritious.
4 :
only if bought at a local farm organic doesn't mean healthy if its not really organic. I have seen the local market put stickers on reg food to get more money
5 :
Dave J - that's illegal and should be reported. Organic food is not going to be more nutritious for you. The difference is that organic producers are taking care of their land and working it to get the last possible perfect strawberry possible. They're not using mass-produced pesticides and fertilizers that upset the natural balance of flora and fauna. As a result, they aren't poisoning the land they grow food on. This means they produce less, so they do have to price their products higher. Yes, there are natural pesticidal compounds in organically grown food. However, each plant has its own chemical formula and thus there are many variations, whereas commercial producers use only a small group of pesticides. Thus, while the numbers are still small, we get a much larger cumulative consumption of them than of any given natural pesticide. Another good thing about organic farming is that the smaller farms are more likely to produce foods that are not the same as the large corporate farms. For instance, tomato breeds may be chosen for their flavor rather than their looks. This will help avoid the weakness of monoculture that corporate farms are courting
