How much will it cost to provide basic education, health care, food, safe water and sanitation for all of the world's people for a year? Interestingly enough 780 billion is how much the world spent on weapons in 1998. Some points you may want to bring up in your assignment: -At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. -24,000 children die each day due to poverty -Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. -Less than one per cent of what the world spends annually on weapons could have put every child on the planet into school by the year 2000 -Every year there are 350รข€“500 million cases of malaria, with 1 million fatalities
