what food, health and sanitation issues should I avoid in China
I plan to live 1 year in China, what food and/or water sanitation issues are known health risks? Also, what general sanitation practices by Chinese are to be avoided by westerners, such as exposure to fungus, impetigo....hepA,B,C, etc?

Nothing is different from any part of the world. Please flash up where from and to where, which city? Always take care, the normal self-care of yourself and safe-guard of any risk in health or environmental condition. Standard practices apply. If to country side or small villages, be more careful. No raw food, all must be cooked. Not to eat from roadside stall unless you are seasoned to the condition there. Always wash clean your hands and body at all time.

never drink tap water.water for drinking in shanghai mostly comes in dispenser.try not to eat roadside food!! watch where you're going.for the spit on the ground, people holding cigarettes.and be especially careful crossing the road!! quite a few drivers dont stop at the red light. bring your own chopsticks/fork&spoon when you eat out.

Follow normal hygeine practices. Also be aware that China uses growth hormone and antibiotics in food production. You may not receive this notice on the menu or packaging. Have a good trip.
